The principal difference between day trading and longer-horizon investing is the time frame. Whether you inspect a 5-minute, hourly, or daily chart, the underlying mechanics of supply, demand, and crowd behavior are the same — compressed into faster feedback loops. Technical price analysis rests on two working assumptions: (1) prices move in trends, and (2) an established trend tends to perpetuate until the weight of the evidence shows it has reversed. Crucially, technical analysis deals in probabilities, never certainties. No bar pattern, trendline, or indicator guarantees what happens next.
